From the album The Silver Cord.

Call me a liar, call me your friend

I will let you down again

Cause I'm a disaster of epic proportions

I will let you down again

I am not worthy to be called your savior

I am not going to catch all your blame

But to warn you some may fall on my name

How could you do this to all your believers?

How could you do this to all of your friends?

You know this is the end

I know this is the end

I know this is the end

Just listen to the music. Keep your opinions to yourself. You obviously came hear to har it because you could relate to it. Not to banter about religion. Our opinion is what drives us to say these things. and 'defend ourselves.' Truth is, this is what we're hear for. Just to listen and reflect..

Music is always open to interpretation; I personally believe it is about a woman who loves a man so much, all she does it want him, but he is afraid that he will ruin her.

What is this song really about? I think it's about not being good enough for someone, like a spouse.

The band has said themselves that they are not a christian band... -.- They actually try to keep religion out of their music. the only reason they're speculated to be a christian band is because they were signed to tooth and nail records, which is primarily a christian record label.

i think its talking about a false prophet, but that goes back to christianity, but hey, it works.

I read in an early comment that someone believed it was the anitchrist. so here is my view: So the anitchrist is saying what he is seacrtly but only inbetween the line. so when the part comes that says "How could you do this to all your belivers? how could you do this to all your friends" i thinks its like the ppl that he decived singing. yeah

honestly guys. quit fighting over religion. this band poured their heart into this song. can't we all just thank them for sharing such a deep insight of themselves?

I have looked many places, and have found several sources that point to the actual meaning of the song. Since the Classic Crime is a Christian band, this is not dissing God. In fact, it is dissing the AntiChrist. Saying, the AntiChrist does promise great things, but he always lets his followers down, and people often "fall on his name". But due to his shifty-ness, he doesn't "get all their blame". It makes the most sense, in context.

@alanacarr I think it's just about a guy who makes a mistake and loses all of his friends for it. But the part where it sounds like there are more than one people singing, and they say 'how could you do this to all your believers, how could you do this to all of your friends? You know this is end' is his friends, the people who trusted him, addressing him. Then he says 'I know this is the end', as if saying he doesn't expect them to forgive him. That's what I think it means ^__^
