Probably been mentioned below (couldn't be arsed to scroll down) but the first interview bit is Clash mk2 (still more interesting than anything they did on record.) Straight to Hell version is decent - but still get the feeling it's a bit "corporate rock" U2 style. No wonder Joe smashed it up.

I used to listen to the entire Sandinista album in one sitting at least once a week when I was stationed overseas. But this performance of STRAIGHT TO HELL, from Combat Rock, is, to me, THE BEST moment of The Clash. Goofy TV host, goofy American comedy show and then, BAM, right between the eyes with the stark and powerful (AND. NO. F*CKING. STRINGS) Straight To Hell. Thanks for trip.

Combat rock has some good stuff on it. The guys looked a bit burned out on this vid from the constant touring gigging and recording and really need to take a year off. (Joe's words) Having said that they were never the same without Topper, and so had maybe run their course. As we can't rewind time we will never know what music they could have made after this. I was a fan of BAD though and saw them in Manchester around the same time I met Joe and Paul busking at Leeds university

The Clash is probably the best band ever! And I am so sad that Joe died. And Joey Ramone died & Frankie Venom died too, AND none from an overdose
