I named my Boston Terrier Brixton in honor of this awesome song, the city, and the fucking greatest band of all time THE CLASH!!!

Paul's not playing the bass here, Joe is - same as the other live versions of Guns... I'd guess it was too hard to sing, keep up that steady bass line AND look good at the same time. Who can blame him? ;)

Bassist Paul Simonon wasn't what you would technically have called a musician when he joined the Clash. "When I heard that Paul couldn't play at first, I thought, well, it slows you up," Joe Strummer said. "But then I got on with Paul so well and he just picked it up. In three weeks he could play as much as we needed. Well, he could play as good as me in about three weeks, yeah." Paul on vocals and Joe on bass on "Guns of Brixton": #clashurday

*Lessons Planning*This song has been in my head for a few hours now. I think that is because I am planning lessons for American History, more specifically, the American Revolution, and reading about the Battle of Lexington reminds me of particular events that occurred in the same vicinity this year on the same April day. #IfYouKnowWhatIMean
