How Will You Answer When The City Calls?

The City Calls are an exciting, fresh and energetic pop punk band from the UK's South Coast, armed with a host of impressive and catchy songs.

The band self-released their debut single "Take Me Home (Kiss and Tell)" in the summer of 2009 and followed this with their first UK tour which sparked an interest within the music industry and gained them a vast following of loyal fans. The City Calls have been extensively gigging and touring since that release, supporting the likes of Futures, Twenty Twenty and The Mission District

(Canada).

The band have headlined sold-out shows in their hometown of Southampton, played at the 40th anniversary of Glastonbury Festival, the massive student festival 'Beach Break Live' and were one of the top-billed bands on the Butserquest Stage at 2010's 'Butserfest' along with Deaf Havana.

I Am Mighty Records released the band's mini-album 'A Spark to Ignite' in August 2011, which gathered positive reviews from magazines such as Rock Sound and Big Cheese, as well as countless websites. The first single from the release was played on both Scuzz & Lava TV and recieved thousands of views on YouTube in an extremely short amount of time. The mini-album release show was a sold-out event, and before the year is out the band will be playing more shows of a similar nature.

January 2012 sees the band release a new single & video which will be played on KrankTV, Kerrang!,

Scuzz TV and many other media outlets. The single will also be part of a radio campaign and will be found on numerous staions' playlists.

The band work relentlessly to increase their online presence and increase their fan base; this combined with their passion for talking to fans at live shows has expanded their already large and passionate fanbase.

Their sound has been described as "a raw version of You Me At Six, Paramore and New Found Glory," whilst also demonstrating "energy, catchy hooks and an exciting live show, leaving the audience wanting more."

Emo comes from the word EMOtional or to express one's feelings. Emo has been used negatively for years but no one really knows what the true form of the word actually means. Bands like In Fear and Faith are emo but in the good way and they are a great band just like The City Calls.
