Here it is where it all began for me. The summer of '58 I was 10. On a beach one bright sunny afternoon, I heard a song coming from a little plastic box that someone had. It was a song about my favorite Disney hero - Zorro. Not necessarily a great song unless you were there. Remember the date (4 years before American Graffiti was set). Transistor radios were brand new, as were Pop radio stations. Sony's radio, the TR-63, released in December 1957 cost $39.95 (equivalent to $336 today). A whole new world opened up to me that day, literally out of the air. Enter music into my life as a major driving force.Related Videos
