"Land That I Love"

Patriots rejoice! Legendary Blue Hat Records/E1 Entertainment act, The Charlie Daniels Band, are set to release a new collection of patriotic songs on August 10 titled Land That I Love. It is certainly a patriotic, America-loving slab of songs, and I certainly applaud the band for that. You needn't live in a Red State in order to appreciate this batch of songs that show love and respect for this great country of ours. But it certainly is filled to the brim with American anthems that espouse the virtues of the country.

I've met Charlie Daniels and I don't think he's racist. But his lyrics are sloppy. He slams every Muslim who wears a "rag" on their head, and then talks about terrorism as if every Muslim is a terrorist. He implies Muslims can't be Americans because real Americans revere the U.S. flag and don't wear rags on their heads. Call me overly sensitive, call me politically correct, call me a lib-tard, but I still think that's a stupid-ass thing to say. And considering that Daniels has since said he wasn't trying to insult all Muslims, the fact that he did insult them means that he should agree his lyrics should have been clearer.
