I grew up with prayer meetings in his grandparent's home and him singing and praying right along with all of us. What wonderful memories of such a sweet Godly man.

I'm proud to be from South Carolina where people are still friendly respectable patriotic and have a strong faith in Christ.

Amen to, "Best Freakin song ever." Especially the first part of the song where he's reciting the poem.

Growing up in small town North Carolina was a gift from above. Back in the day of dirt roads, real tobacco barns, neighbor helping neighbor and no locks on the doors. Carolina, I do indeed remember you.

South Carolina was a second home for me besides Augusta, GA. My dear grandmother lived in Spartanburg, SC in the mill village of Whitney. So much wonderful summer memories!! I miss that place!

I remember being at Cherry Point NC before I deployed to Nam. This song wasn't written and recorded until well after I returned (Thank You Jesus) back home. Great song. Bless CDB...

I remember cruising to lake Duhernal in N.J. back in the early 80's and having this song blaring out the speakers of my cousin's 75 roadrunner. No worries and much easier times!
