True they rock my world...but The Who started all this 20 years earlier....I'm sure Burgess would tell you the same.....The Who= best drummer all time......best bass player ever.......Townsend just best genius ever and Daltry one of a kind vocals.......but i really do love Chameleons

deliusism1 .

I'm no expert on Interpol-I've only heard their early stuff years ago.But what I heard sounded to me like sort of a cross between the Chameleons and Joy Division, and I didn't think it was particularly original, although not bad.I'll admit it was definitely more listenable than most of the other indie stuff coming out at the time that I heard, but that's not really saying much. You have to understand,I grew up when stuff like this was just coming out,so I have very little patience for immitation.

@jameyinegypt Their debut was genius. Not big on their 2 follow ups. Their latest is quite good though. I have a love/hate relationship with Interpol.

Cocteau Twins are the best band of the 80's. The Cure are another, and yes these two.

@cassius303 Strange Times does it for me. Having said that, still love the collections. Like the John Peel sessions.

Sound's sooo like Interpol , of course Interpol have been heavily influenced by this band. Just the vocal's are different that's all.

Yes a world of talent but they would be the first to tell you that The Who is the great mountain that bands as good as them(very few) were always tryingto climb....from an American; Long live Brit rock!

@Jools1988 Your best Album to start on is their debut, Script of the Bridge. It's their masterpiece. Then do their last original album, Strange Times. Leave the second album What Does Anything Mean? Basically to last as it's generally considered the weakest album, whilst still good. Why Call It Anything? was their comeback album and is also worth a listen. You've then got the Tony Fletcher EP and Strip and This never Ending Now, the last two being stripped down acoustic retrospectives
