This was the Chameleons at there very best. I saw them then at there prime. This band and Joy Division are the best bands ever period

This is only here say by way of Mark, but my understanding is that the Chameleons intentionally avoided the spotlight, marketing etc. They suffered because of that. Bands like the Cure and U2 actively sought commercial success and made it for obvious reasons. It’s really too bad because they were truly comparable.
