This is a song the folksinger, Pete Seeger, put together from the Bible verses in Ecclessiastes. The Byrds turned it into a hit.

Great song, but who told them "Hey lets shoot this video with you playing your instruments on horseback"

Sort of like Milli Vanilli on horseback.

One of my all time favorites. I was only a kid at the time, so alot of this was lost on me .You know, when you are 7, it seems like things will always be the same - mom and dad always there, always go to the same school and have the same friends, and brothers and sisters always around being a pain in the butt. I drive past the house where we lived, and it all comes back. But trying to hang on to it is like hanging on to a wisp of smoke. To everything there is a time, and a time to every purpose.

On this day in 1965 {December 12th} the Byrds performed "Turn! Turn! Turn!" on the CBS-TV program 'The Ed Sullivan Show' Two months earlier on October 23rd it entered Billboard's Top 100 chart; and on December 4th it peaked at #1 {for 3 weeks} and spent 14 weeks on the Top 100 It reached #26 in the U.K. Original group members Gene Clark {at age 46} and Michael Clarke {at age 47} have passed away Also RIP Mr. Sullivan and Pete Seeger, the song's composer, turned 93 years old this past May 3rd

I've seen a video on YT where the Byrds were also playing in the countryside, Crosby completely stoned and Hillman or Clarke wearing a stupid hat. I wonder if it was filmed in the same time as this :-)

Ha .. I don't know about playing a guitar on a horse but one time I seen a cowboy shoot a six shooter seventeen times on a horse.
