From what may be the band's very last televised performance!

From "The Midnight Special"

Unfortunately, Clarence's Guitar is not that high up in the mix.

Well, MAYBE. They were definitely The Byrds and that lineup definitely had the hits. But to dismiss what followed is nothing but sheer ignorance.

@kypoppa youy do know that the older band sounded like crap live right? that recording of tambourine man sounds good because roger just used studio musicians. You should here the later byrds with Clarence, Skip, Gene and Roger. They blew the old Byrds out of the water

Now I like the Byrds a lot but I gotta say I think version is better than the one they're famous for.

wow cool to hear them do the original feel of the Dylan version!

BTW, who are the two people who introduce them in the first few seconds of the clip? They look familiar, but I'm drawing a blank.

Nice version, more reminiscent of their SWEETHEART OF THE RODEO era. On their original version, they only sang one verse -- Dylan's original had like six or seven verses, and obviously, the Byrds' single couldn't include them all if they'd wanted to get airplay on mid-60s AM radio -- but it's interesting that, while they only sing one verse here as well, they sing a different verse, e.g. "I know that evening's empire...", as opposed to their original "Take me for a trip..."

This sounds like the Dylan version of the song. I like the Byrds harmony on the chorus.
