Eh I'm not proud of that post looking back, i would like to say now that anyone who has any kind of elitist views on punk doesn't really get the idea of punk. I'd also say that your definition of punk would exclude Dead Kennedy's who are in my eyes the archetype of punk. Also if you'd have listened to any of the bands I mentioned then you'd know they don't recycle chord structures. Also I'd like to retract my comment about being "retarded" it must have been very late at night when I posted.

NONE of the bands you listed are "punk" by ANY stretch of the imagination. Your definition of "punk" seems to consist of confused, middle-aged American men, dressed like teenagers, with goatee beards or silly mohawks and sleeve tattoos shouting childish lyrics over recycled chord structures. Punk happened in Britain between 1976-1977 and it was completely dead by 1978. It can never happen again, ever. Move on.
