The Box - Crying Out Loud For Love

Guitarist Claude Thibeault, bassist Jean-Pierre Brie, drummer Phillipe Bernard and keyboard player Guy Pisapia asked vocalist Jean-Marc Pisapia to join them as the Box in 1982. He agreed, and the band released their first album (self-titled) two years later. Although all the members were French Canadian, they mostly sang in English. All the Time, All the Time, All the Time followed in 1985, but the band didn't make it in Canada until 1987's Closer Together. Their last album was The Pleasure and the Pain in 1990; after Bernand and Guy Pisapia left in 1992, the greatest hits compilation A Decade of the Box was released in 1993.

One of the best local bands in Quebec, and in Canada. Highly under-rated.

Another Classic song added to my collection. I have been looking for this song for years. I just couldn't remember the band who played it.

I was a fan then, and now, I owned that greatest hit cd and wore it out. They were a great 80's-90's band. I would love to see these guys in my hometowns annual retro concert.

Tune always reminded me of the melody of Vangelis' L'Enfant...Just in a different key.

1982... Most of the music I like is from that decennium. It's a shame I never heard of The Box before (and I can't remember them from the 80s either.) Anyway, it's a great sound!

I just realized the simple melody he hums at the beginning has a east coast, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland folk sound to it

The Box was robbed. They deserved to be at least as well known as Men at Work.
