The south will not rise again, that ship sailed and it’s not coming back. The lost cause is lost. End of story.

As I scroll through the comments I see a lot of foreigners understanding the south. It is sad that our own homeland is divided and doesn’t see it the same way. I may not be a southerner, I may not be a Democrat, but I surely do understand that these men fought and died valiantly in combat. Both sides fighting for what they believed in and attempted to sway men to their causes through the use of stereotypical information. Unfortunately, in modern day society, many in the U.S. refuse to look at both sides of the spectrum. The south was intended to be evil slaveholders who had their own personal self interests. However, these were only the actions of a few and not the majority. Within this film, one may realize that southerners and African Americans had bondage that gripped them close together. Even in MLK Jr.’s speech he announced his dream of the children of god being at a table of “brotherhood”. Despite race, gender, or religion, we are all alike. One day I hope America will see this and finally move forward before another inevitable civil war.

Looks at the comment section and sees it's mostly about confederate supporters. Why can't people just like a song for its tune and rhythm.

The bad part of this was that, since the Confederate states favored states rights over the central government, it meant that the central government of Jefferson Davis could never get them to agree to work together on many parts of the war. Each of the states went their own way and the consequences of that were predictable. A central government by design is more efficient at war fighting than disorganized states.
