Who cares what the chords are? This version is crude and ponderous. The Richard Berry and Sonics are both great!

What all the other acts who cover this song don't understand is that the Richard Berry version (the original writer of this song & "Louie Louie") is so much better sonically because the chord pattern is way different & better than the others. The Sonics covered it in 1965 & got the chords way way wrong, and unfortunately, that's the version everybody remembers & copies. Berry's version is G-Am-Bb-Am, whereas all of the other versions out there are G-C-D-C, which is basic 1-4-5-4 progression & very similar to Louie Louie, though it uses an Em instead of E major. Just another case where whites copied blacks & got more notoriety & money than a superior original version.

The most derivative band around. 10 am automatic is good and your touch has a catchy riff, but this cover sucks. No one does it better than the Sonics. If Iggy is the Godfather of Punk... then the Sonics were his Daddy.
