Carter Fourqurean and Carson McKee were in the studio this weekend with Campfires and Constellations to record their new EP, and while they were there they decided to do an acoustic binaural recording.

Binaural recording makes the listener feel like they are actually present in the recording space, opening up a whole new world of sound and creating an experience that is truly remarkable.

This is the first in a series of Binaural music recordings from Vinyl Records, so keep your ears open for you next chance to join us in the studio! Until then, put on some headphones for the full experience and enjoy Campfires & Constellations while they surround you with their song "Get Lost".

Works well with Ultrasone cans. Excellent separation. Nice job with the melody. Its hard to project over all the instruments when they use less dynamics in the music. Job well done.

I'm currently building a binaural head for a university project, nice work. Try moving the mics in a little so they are flush with the ear opening, it will yield better localisation points, also try not to have singer in centre. Binaural recording has known phase issues with front/rear signals so i always position singer slightly off centre. Sounds awesome though.

A rather crude dummy head experience. The ear shape is crucial...

lindosland agree 100%. Good performance. First row seats would be about perfect. It's like too much of a good thing being that close. It's not awful by any means. I enjoyed it quite a big.

Cool, amazing sound and performance. I agree with the other comment, that banjo is funky! This demonstration convinced me that we don't need special dummy heads that cost a fortune, and I bought a nice white mannequin head. And drilled out the ears a bit so my Soundman OKM earphones fit nicely. Now the head looks like someone listening to music. Thanks.Great music!

I'm listening on (£400) Senheisser HD650's. Pretty good, but the dummy is listening too close, hence the hard left and right effect (which is as it should be if you insist on standing with the band around you!) Also a lack of ambience. Moving the head away should improve things in both respects.

I am listening to it with a pair of 400$ Denon A-HD 2000 and I am not that impressed.
