Robin's appearance at the time of this performance was awkward and geeky. In an interview at the time, he said he knew he was ugly, but glad to be, so it wouldn't distract from his singing. What happened over the next few years was astonishing, that he transformed himself into a beautiful man, reminiscent of a Pre-Raphaelite angel. Barry was conventionally handsome, but Robin was uniquely beautiful.

By the time he was 18, Robin Gibb was already an outstanding vocalist and song writer. He sang pop songs like soaring operatic arias, with a sound he created that was unique and bravely unusual. One has to wonder how such a young man had developed the emotion inside himself to sing with such passion, vulnerability, sadness, delicacy, and utter abandon. There are other great singers, but Robin was a rare treasure. a wonder that appears perhaps once in a generation; we'll never see his like again. I am moved to tears each time to hear this song, its poetic expression, to be in the presence of a great artist, and now grieving that darling Robin has passed from this world.

Robin was only 18 years old here, amazing. Does anyone know what he's saying at 2:54? I bought sheet music to this song to get they lyrics but they're wrong. I try to watch his lips to determine what he's saying in all of the clips of this song but can't quite get it. at 0:28 my sheet music says that the word is 'cept' and that clearly isn't what he's saying. Barry could you please call me and let me know. :)

If you can't read the words in parens it says (Original Footage 4th Febrary 1968,.They were already on television in color. That is really something - especially for 18 year old Robin, the lead singer. Eighteen years old with such professionalism
