This song is amazing. The stereo mix is weird by today's standards. Drums to the left, bass and vocals to the right, and yet it sounds great. It shows you how a well arranged song can be mixed much more easily than a sloppy arranged one. On paper it shouldn't work, but the bass part and the kick drum are so tight that they form a stereo low end, the guitars complement the vocals on the right, both rhythmically and melodically, and the brass is doubled with ADT.

I think that Savoy Truffle was big inspiration for David Bowie & Roxy Music.

One of my favourite tunes from dear Georgie boy :) If you are a truthseeker like George was then google the truthcontest. Open the free book entitled The Present

This song was a major influence on joey Santiago lead guitarist in Pixies. He used that 2 note bend thing on so many pixies songs.

Did George sing this? I always thought John did.

I read somewhere that the song is based on Eric Clapton's sweet tooth.

The last shot should have been of a bunch of teeth, obviously yanked out with channel locks, lying on a table next to a copy of the Beatles' 'Butcher Album'.

I love this song, can't get enough of hearing it! George's writing and voice were brilliant on this song.

The song did not probably mean anything, but it was absolutely wonderful, just when we needed it, in the late fall of 1968. You could walk down the hall in the dorm and hear the White Album coming from most rooms. Sometimes you could smell something as well, but we need not talk about that!

An underappreciated little gem by the Fab 4. Tight as hell, with a slick little solo by George. Love it!
