PLEASE, READ DESCRIPTION. LISTEN/WATCH VIDEO IN THE HIGHEST QUALITY AVAILABLE.
Normally, I would leave the unreleased tracks to appear only on the download links, but this one deserves to be heard here as well. To finish this Beatles For Sale album remaster period, here it is the unreleased track from those album sessions, Leave My Kitten Alone, stereo remixed (for the most part) and remastered by me.
Stereo remixed and remastered using, for the first time, 5.1 tracks, specifically from the Anthology DVD as it is the only source with a stereo mix/multitracks available.
Around 79% (or 2 minutes and 20 seconds) were mixed in full stereo as the Anthology DVD mix fades-out earlier, so from that point, the mostly mono mix from the Anthology CD is used and, the last eight seconds, come from a very low quality bootleg in order to have the longest fade-out possible. I did tried to mix these mono bits into made-stereo but the quality noticeably changed so I decided to leave it at that. I did tried though, that all three mixes I used were consistent in quality as much as I possibly could. I also tried to do the stereo mix just like if it would have been released back in 1964.
A couple of sidenotes that I want to share that I discovered while I was doing this track: At around the moment the guitar solo ends, there is a 'fwip' sound that seems to be an edit to another take or just the end of recording for the guitar solo; it seems to be this the reason why the song changes into mono, to probably cover up some error. On the bootlegs you can hear it crystal clear, but on the official mixes if one pays enough attention it can be heard as well.
The second sidenote: When engineer John Barrett listened to all The Beatles tapes around 1982, he discovered this track (which was on a blank tape) and also discovered that the tape runs out before Take 5 (aka this one) is finished. In other words, we would never get to hear the full ending.
Enjoy!
John Lennon: Vocals
Paul McCartney: Bass, Piano
George Harrison: Lead Guitar
