Amazing that, even at this early stage, they resisted releasing a single written by anyone but themselves. They recorded this under protest, and I think it shows in the performance. Gerry & The Pacemakers did it much better, and The Beatles were never under pressure again after Please Please Me. Mitch Murray would have loved to be the only non-Fab to write one of their hits!11 years ago
