It would be cool to do a video where you explain how you do these isolations - in any case, THANKS!

From 3:15 he anchors the track by playing D over and over, the simplest bass, and gives space for Ringo to shine doing his fills. And at the very end 4:09 he does this variation of the main riff and it's magical. Actually it's Paul and Ringo that made this song happen with their genius bass and drum parts. With a less inventive rhythm section this song might have sounded like an ordinary rocker. But that's why the Beatles were what they were.

Geddy Lee said he was inspired by Paul's melodic bass lines, that because Paul was a guitarist, his bass playing was more melodic as opposed to repetitive, Cris Squire he also found very inspiring.

These isolation bass things really show how much Paul IMPROVED over the years. You listen to his early bass stuff and pretty ordinary, something must have clicked along the way AND George Martin must have said OK to it, also, and the other guys had to go along with the program, too. Paul's playing is DOMINATING. This is JOHN's song and Paul just KICKED ASS !! Can't be denied.

I've seen the Come Together riff played a million different ways, but can we all agree on this? Paul simply picks two times on the D (3rd string 5th fret), slides without picking up to the A (3rd string, 12th fret), picks the high F (2nd strong, 15th fret), then picks and slides down off the high D (2nd string, 12th fret). But I can't tell what he does on the very first note. It's a neat effect, and really starts the song off with a bang. Does he slide into the D?When I play the outro live, I can't help but add all sorts of stuff to keep it interesting (at least for me), So it's fascinating to hear exactly what Paul did to vary the feel while just basically playing one note (or two notes at points).
