Found an obscure Beach Boys album with this track. Sounds better than The Surfaris did? The ♫ intro for sure...♥

I was married to a lead guitar player for 17 years and his band played this all the time, and I danced the soles right of my cowgirl boots. I was married to a drummer who also could nail "Wipe Out" on his drums.

These are The Marketts, not The Beach Boys. There are dozens of albums which flesh out the pre-Capitol BB tracks with songs by other bands. Thus:Balboa Blue - MarkettsWipe Out - MarkettsSurfer's Stomp - MarkettsTioga - Frogmen (Candix labelmates !)Beware Below - FrogmenUnderwater - FrogmenPhantom Surfer - TornadoesBustin' Surfboards - TornadoesLittle Deuce Coupe - Surfin' Six409 - Surfin' Six

Those drums don't sound very Dennis Wilson, actually the whole thing sounds more like Booker T lunchtime jam

Intro aside, this could well actually be a Beach Boys version. My "Shazam" thinks so, anyway. Surf rock bands in the '60s were always covering each other's stuff, and I'm pretty sure the Beach Boys did a version of this (before their cheesy '80s Rap-rock version, that is: watch?v=r-kAnNgqN9o if you're interested)

Yerah I believe Charly Records did something wrong

Maybe their manager or someone else was doing the intro. Perhaps Charly Records made a wrong compilation under the title Beach Boys. It could be a Surfaris featuring Beach Boys song. Fact is that this is another version of the official Surfaris Wipe out. I can imagine that they heard this hit in '63, and made a cover of it immediately. Just for fun fun fun.....

You invoke on your own so-called knowledge. But prove it that this is not a Beach Boys song. Lots of songs from them are never (or later) released. Come with evidence that this is an other group. Maybe the Pendletons or Kenny and the Cadets. You must know these groups with you knowledge, surely? Charly Records 1984 Tracklist: 1. Surfin' 2. Barbi 3. Karate 4. Luan 5. Surfer Girl 6. Surfer's Stomp 7. Balboa Blue 8. Surfin' Safari 9. What Is A Young Girl Made Of 10. Wipe Out

I know my Beach boys music and this isn't them

There is no vocal part in this song. Only a studio-made 'donald duck' sound at the beginning. The rest is guitars and drums. And in the middle a typical Carl Wilson guitar solo. Ask Al Jardine, contact him on his website.

Yeah and it's still not The Beach Boys it's not their falsetto

Wow, you are persistent! Yeah they did later a remake in 1987 with the Fat Boys. This song is a cover of The Surfaris, both from 1963. The intro is something different. Haven't you seen the CD cover with playlist as evidence?

Seriously it's still not The Beach Boys they did cover Wipeout but they did it with The Fat Boys
