Always loved this song, not a boring moment in it.

This is great song and a track on Side 2 and the second song...listen to the harmonies, the different voices and the production - I'll bet nobody can do this stuff without studio trickerly...very cool...listen to the whole album, then judge, yet BE judged! The Mace

Reprise Records didn't promote the album much, because the Boys were leaving them for CBS. We will never know, but I believe this could have been a hit single. I consider it as good as "Good Timin'" (which ALSO didn't get the attention it deserved, but is an absolute jewel) and this song is evidence that some of the *best* Beach Boys songs were written by Brian Wilson alone.I understand why some criticize the album - Peter Bagge is a very articulate fan/critic of the band - but this truly is an album overflowing with love. Thank God for Brian Wilson!

It's an actual Beach Boys recording, from 1977's "Love You".

a great album yes, but it is certainly available elsewhere. I just bought this at a record store a few days ago! And I'm pretty sure the entire Beach Boys discography is available on amazon or ebay or discogs if you wanted to find it.

I love this song. Especially the little couplet that doesn't go where you expect it to. "It's three o'clock, I go to my sink, pour some milk and I start to think" How cute is that?

What divides fans of this album and haters is that fans understand that being mentally ill is OK... there is no quintessential Brian Wilson. There were many stages. And we respect those stages of his life and his art. So what if he was on coke? Bowie did coke, Velvet Underground... this music is way more interesting though. Pet Sounds is a masterpiece but we don't need the mainstream fans who can't handle the grit..

If you look at any Brian interview from late 76 into 77, Brian seemed quite normal. More so then he is today. I think that his second run with drugs, and the bad medications given to him in the 80s did even more damage. I think Love You is a very creative album. Although, lyrically is quite week on some songs. But I would say this is as good as Wild Honey or Friends.

Good one. I know several SNL boys actually did a surf-related skit with Brian in his bedroom, in the 70's. Somehow that era of his life seems too easy to parody, however. You sort of feel sorry for the guy. Or maybe he was his own parody back then.

Did Brian ever use the cow bell? I could imagine the same skit with Mike complaining that he doesn't play the sleigh bell enough. :)

The difference between Brian Wilson & Bruce Dickinson is, that after Bruce puts his pants on one leg at a time, he makes hit records. Brian crafts hits either in his sleep, or long BEFORE he puts his pants on (actually some days he never gets out of his robe).

what really makes me almost cry is how beautiful the will somebody tell me parts. they are chillingly beautiful. Brian really was back, not completely there but better than before.

No, this is when Brian came back. He did this Love You Album, could anyone hold anything against that??
