Yes, there's a demo somewhere of Brian performing the song with Bob Norberg in '63. It might have been intended for The Survivors.

@ericebryan : all the better, if it was created by Brian in '63. Seems that more & more rarities keep on appearing on YT, featuring either completely-unreleased BW gems from his very early days, or else songs from Brian that laid dormant for years before surfacing in some format or another ...

@colindominy I think "Back Home" was first conceived by Brian in 1963, not sure.

Al's lead vocal is just fine. I really like this version which features completely differently lyrics. It would've been even better, had it been the one & only Brian who was taking the lead vocal on this one. I had no idea that this song was conceived way back in 1970 during the Sunflower sessions. But it's GREAT !!
