ライブ・紫の閃光～リッチー・ブラックモア・ラスト・パフォーマンス・イン・ディープ・パープル～ Come Hell Or High Water 第7期（再々結成第2期） 1992年8月〜1993年11月のディープ・パープルのライブです。見終わった感想は、意外と良いじゃないですか。リッチーは脱退前でくさった表情で、まったく笑わず、淡々と弾いています。そしてHighway star のソロの最中にイアン・ギランの後ろのカメラが気にくわなくて水をかけたり、他のメンバーのソロの時はアンプの後ろに引っ込んでいたりして、スネモード全開。この人はオジンになっても変わらんな、まあ、オイラもそうだけど。そんな精神状態でも曲は、演奏は素晴らしい。人間の感情なんか超越してギターの世界に入りこんでいるようでした。年だから当然往年のアクションはまったく無いですが上手いです。特に気に入った演奏は、The battle rages on。パープルの中じゃ新しめの曲ですが、リッチーとジョンのコンビネーションは熟練の域を感じます。イアン・ギランは２重アゴになっていますし声も出なくなっていますが、頑張っていました。１つ言えばあの髪形、、、もうちょっと変えた方が良いよね。ジョンのように縛っても渋いのにねぇ。なんかワカメが頭に乗っているような印象です（笑）あとLazy の後半のイアン・ペイスのドラムソロは驚き、この年でも出来るんだぁ。これは素晴らしかったす。全体に音質もよく良い出来のライブでした。でもはじめてパープルを見る人には昔のマシン・ヘッド・ライヴ 1972/73から見た方が、かっこ良いし、疾走感も抜群だから、そちらをお勧めします。あえてオジサンプレー見なくても良いでしょ。

I disagree with people who think Ian Gillan hasn't been able to sing since the Perfect Strangers tour. He will always be my favorite singer. In my opinion, this era was the peak of his vocal abilities and the best he'd sounded since the early 70s. That is only my opinion. Deal with it.

Some fool told me that the best guitarist was with Lynard Skynard in their early days, but he never said who he was. I wonder if he could even remember his name. I, on the other hand, informed him that Ritchie Blackmore was the best ever for a number of reasons. The man could simply write memorable music.

I`ve heard that Ian Gillan said that The Battle Rages on Tour was a disaster musically ,totally uninspired,and half-emty concerts hall.Well listening to this,to me this is Purple at it`s best.Brilliant band!!
