I love The Band. I love this song. But this version is not good. Danko revives it a couple of times, but without Levon and Richard the soul of the song is starved. I don't wish to say anything obviously negative about Robbie, who wrote this masterpiece, and is a fine guitar player, but this song was always about its voices- Levon, Richard, and Rick.

It's The Weight with a riff in the middle (for the first and last time?). Not bad, to put it mildly. This lovely song brings yet some consolation in those times of accelerating european xenophobia.
