To be honest, when I saw this on the night I felt a little bit the same. And I am a Tim Rogers nut! It's only after a few more viewings that it's grown on me. The swagger of the song suits Tim perfectly. I just think he looks more comfortable behind a guitar. Nothing wrong with your comment though mate.
