I am 41 and happened upon this group of musicians. I really really like the sound and appreciate the themes. I think this music is a great representation of the search for identity, meaning and order that young people go through. It sounds to me like they're trying to reconcile their knowledge of God with the reality of human existence. And although the two realities might appear to be in conflict, eventually, God -- whether or not in human wisdom -- prevails. There's the temptation to succumb to despair in the world, and this music might seem despairing, but only for a time. In the struggle, the rage for human order represented here, is a chance to understand what the younger generation needs from us to be helped along. It's simply artful, pleasant, and melodious with a nice steady beat to carry the day.

I didn't get The Arcade Fire until now. What an important song.We can be like children all our lives. The sooner we stop denying our emotional states, and our vulnerabilities, the sooner we'll have the courage to stop the absolute insanity being carried out by our elected officials. They're ruining everything good about life on Earth. Bhuddist teachings, the Matrix, it's all true to a sense. Most of us are asleep in our lives, only concerned with satisfaction and escape from suffering, in our little bubbles. Wake up, before they turn the summer into dust.
