Seen this movie in 1991 when I just arrived in this country and I watched it more than seven times; one of my favorite movies. Anniversary Song's melody is as delicious as honey. Thanks for uploading.

Al Jolson was the most favorite entertainer/singer of my Dad..He was & still is one of Hollywoods most famous entertaines of his time 30's 40'etc.He chose to continue to singing even when his wife asked him to stop . I've always admired him for making the best choice of continuing to sing & entertain to thank God for giving him this special talent in order to share it with many many people.sincerely, julio artist since 1961

The premise of the screenplay of The Jolson Story, i.e. that after Jolson met and married the dancer Ruby Keeler, she insisted that he retire from show business and stop singing, took considerable dramatic license with Jolson's career. In reality, Jolson performed steadily throughout the 1930s and 40s although his star had faded by the time of production of The Jolson Story. With the unexpected success of the film, Jolson's career had a resurgence and he was much more in demand for radio and concert appearances, and continued to perform until his death in 1950.

Al Jolson was at his best when he recorded the sound track for the Jolson Story. A true love song, I still get a tear in my eye when I hear this. I was almost 20 years old when I shared it with a very special person.
