A lovely song from Annie Haslam's underappreciated solo album (Annie Haslam) from 1989, which was written by Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues, who also sings on this track.

Did anyone know Annie performed this song, live at the Towne Crier Cafe in Pawling, NY some many years ago.. We were there and it was awesome!!

Ahhh yes.....I have had a crush on Annie since I first heard her on the Renaissance Prologue album. She stole the hearts of many of us prog rockers through the years. I have all her recordings and just like you, this song is one of my favorite solo hits by her. I also adore Turn of the Century with Steve Howe (from the Yes Tribute album, Tales from Yesterday).

I've loved her voice for nearly 40 years and this is one of my very favorite songs she's sung

I am not alone then ? I mention Annie Haslam I known Annie's voice for over 40 years and she has the ability to stun me at 20 yards , The voice the most versatile instrument a god given gift.

Oh how I wish Annie and Justin would make an album together....even if they sing their favorites from years past. Hearing Annie's spin on some of Justin's songs and Justin's on some of the Renaissance's songs would be spectacular.

You should explore some of Annie's other solo work and especially her music with the band Renaissance. There is a fair amount of her music on youtube now. Check out "The Young Prince and Princess" from Renaissances's masterpiece album Scheherazade and Other Stories and also "Carpet of the Sun." I absolutely adore her voice.....

I never heard of Annie Haslam but she sounds great as well. Her voice and singing style is very similar to Sarah Mclachlan.

Yes...she too has a wonderful voice. ABBA was a guilty pleasure of mine because I am known to be a prog rocker, but you cannot ignore talent. Many people have said they like Agnetha's version better....but I respectfully disagree. Annie stole my heart when she came onto the scene with Renaissance and she has had me ever since!

Agnetha Faltstog's (former ABBA singer) also sang this song.

Maybe I was reading your mind when I wrote it! I was so surprised that no one had created a show to this song on youtube.....the lyrics are so rich and filled with imagery that it was pretty easy for me to select the right photos to fit. Annie stole my heart many years ago with that angelic voice of hers.....she is rightly called "The Nightingale of Progressive Rock."

The note sounds exactly like what I would have said...in fact, maybe I said it! LOL Thanks for publishing this. :)
