Every time I listen to this song, I think about what's been going on in my life in the past 6 1/2 years and how God has been working in me. My dad was killed in an accident in 2008, and my mom and I were also in the same accident. I remember how everything felt as if it had been snatched away. I remember the pain (and pain never goes away). I remember the hurt. I remember the grief. I'll confess that I chased after so many foolish things after Dad died, looking for any way possible to kill the pain. But those pursuits led to many sinful habits, and it was a journey in of its own breaking myself of those things. I gave up on God after Dad died because I felt that I could better process everything that was happening. Although I gave up on God, He did not give up on me. I could continue typing and tell y'all about all the things God has done for me, but I will simply say this: despite this tragedy, God has NEVER let me down. He got me through my grief. He got me through the loss of Dad (even though I did not see it at the time). He's brought me to a new state and a new home. He's changed my heart and my attitude. He's allowing me to see Him and everything else in a new perspective. When I was in pain, He was my comforter, and He continues to be my comforter. When I cry, He makes me smile. I've seen it all. I've seen joy. I've seen pain. I've lived through both joy and pain. I've seen death. I've confronted death. I've encountered death. I've cheated death. I have won. I have lost. I've gotten it right at times, but sometimes I have not. And even now, I still cling to the ONE who created me to fulfill His plan and purpose for my life. No matter what happens in the future, I will always glorify Him and sing His praises. Here's my broken hallelujah.

No one is perfect. Listen, we all fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). We are not saved by works, by how perfect we are, no no no! The Parisees thought like this. We are saved by faith in Christ alone. We are not under the law, rather under GRACE! (Romans 6:14) There are times when we feel so broken; like our praise will be unacceptable, therefore rejected, or God will turn His face from us. Now if this is because repentance is needed, repent, don't give satan a hammer to condemn you with. Here is what God's Word has to say about it: The Lord is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit - Psalm 34:18Furthermore:The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise - Psalm 51:17And if that were not enough to convince you that He still loves you when your heart is broken, check this out:He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds - Psalm 147:3So lift up your hands and praise Him! He waits for you to come to Him. He will renew your spirit, create in you a clean heart (Psalm 51:10).He will give you strength (Isaiah 40:29). When you are feeling broken and weak, this is even more reason to cry out to Him. This is when you cry out with all of your heart! When you seek Him with all your heart, that is when He will be found by you (Jeremiah 29:13). Everytime I have felt like giving up, I'm weary and tired, I come to Him because I have learned that He will give me rest (Matthew 11:28). You don't need to be at your best to praise Him. Sometimes, I will just put on the praise music, and everytime I end up in tears with my hands lifted up to Him, praising Him with all my heart. I am renewed, refreshed and ready to start my day. I'm telling you, it works every time! He knows what you need more than you do.

There are, however, times I wish I had one human friend close enough to touch.... to share my praises to GOD with.... to hear their love in their voice.... to feel the same in their touch.....I must say: THY grace is sufficient for me!!!Sure praying my newly restored childhood bestfriend doesn't feel abandoned by all human flesh the way I do-because I can't physically get to her...I will return to THE FRIEND that no matter how many times I fail HIM; HE has never and never will fail to be right by my side in the darkest of nights.To HIM.....
