The Adventures of Pete & Pete was only the best show to have ever been broadcast on Nickelodeon. It also featured music from some of the best indie bands of its time. Bands such as The Apples In Stereo, Chug, Drop Nineteens, Polaris, The Magnetic Fields, and many others.
Here are The 6ths, with their song "Falling Out of Love (With You)". This song appeared on "When Petes Collide" as well as "Nightcrawlers" and "Das Bus"(that I know of now), I took the clips from the episode "When Petes Collide". Enjoy!

Not to mention cameos from Iggy Pop, Steve Buscemi, George Burns, Michael Stipe and many more! That show is great. I found the compete DVD box set on sale as an adult and really enjoyed re-watching Pete and Pete. You could tell the creators of that show were really into indy/post punk music and great movie culture. How they got Iggy Pop to play a suburban dad on a kids show I can't even imagine. 10 years ago

I love that this show had shoegaze bands like Drop Nineteens on it. My best friend and I tried to re-watch Doug, but we HATE it now. We figured we would give Pete and Pete a shot, and we watched every episode. It truly is a good show if you can watch it in your mid 20s and not just for nostalgia.10 years ago

Frankly, I would rather watch "garbage" shows like this than watching animated female characters exposing their breast and boobs every single episode. (known as fan-service). I'm not saying that all Japanese animation TV shows are like that, only just the ones that are full with cookie cutter characters, simplistic plots and over the top sexual overtones. The Adventures of Pete and Pete is an unique and zany show that serves moral values, humor and unforgettable characters.11 years ago
