Ha GMDesro you got it backwards... Dave Mustaine influenced Metallica, in fact Metallica ripped Dave Mustaine off and took his material. In all honesty, if Dave Mustaine didn't join the band they wouldn't have been anywhere near as good as they were nor would have they got the publicity they got. >.> I honestly don't believe Metallica was ever the best metal band. I just think that they were the most mainstream metal band.

Metallica is just evolved Dave Mustaine guitar playing but even so Dave Mustaine still outplays them in Megadeth. Anyways, what does any of this have to do with Testament?! @dedbusted yeah ik that..but you do not have to learn them..you play what sounds good to your ears...which everything that mankind can make a sound with sounds good to someones ears..yeah ik that i use scales now..just in an unorthadox way..which makes it sort of original..but there are not rules..just ppl would say it doesnt sound good..but to someone, it would sound good..it would be music..not just sound..and then someone would say it is a scale..but everything is a scale anymore
