When I hear this song I think of my mother, for she was very much a traveller in the days when foreign travel was only for the very few. She first took me to Europe (Holland) when I was 9 years old (1953) and went on to travel to many lands under her own steam.. She never learnt to read or write but she got there all the same because she dreamed of far away places and nothing could stand in the way of her dreams. My father was a coal miner and she was a cleaner. She went for it.
