♪♫ She tried to show me how to love

I bit her lips and bruised her arms

No I hadn't learned Tenderness

She asked, "what does love mean to you?"

I grabbed her hair and pulled her down

I looked in her eyes and I laughed

The love I feel is hard and fast

It's for a face and for one night

I don't need to own anyone

She said, she said, "All your women burn in your flame

But as it dies, as it dies, they'll leave you and seek revenge"

She laughed and said, "You'll go through hell

You'll live in lonely rooms I know

And watch for my love's Tenderness"

Oh I went from her to someone else

And someone else mmmm

Oh I couldn't feel satisfied

She said, she said, "All your women burn in your flame

And as it dies, as it dies, they'll leave you and seek revenge"

I wish that I could find her now

My love is soft, my love is warm

I'd take her to bed tenderly

Oh i'd take her to bed tenderly

Yes I'd take her to bed tenderly

mmmhhhmmmm ♪♫

They were a bit more than just "Born To Be Wild". This proves it. I always loved "Smokey Factory Blues" as it hit home very hard...I worked in a coke plant for LTV Steel in Aliquippa, PA. I hated that job...the closer I got there the more I could smell that Godforsaken place! But it was good money at the time, but "not enough to move",

We need to call the Classic RockStations and request these songs. Monster Mash would fit right in with what is going on now.

I got to see Steppenwolf at the fair in Greenville, South Carolina! They played on the Speedway! 10$ to get in the fair and see this GREAT band! You could watch them and just tell they were happy to be there. This was in the mid to late 90s'. Love this song! His voice contrasts to the words in a good way!

This song holds a lot of meaning for me. I found out just last night that my first true love, who I married in 1980 at age 17, died 5 months ago. He was only 56. When I nearly died in a tornado in 92, he crept into my hospital room and left me a card. I never saw him but I knew that was his way of saying "sorry". That was the tender side of him that I fell in love with so long ago and it meant the world to me. When I heard of his death, I cried for hours. Love and forgiveness erase all the hurt

Amen. I agree. I wish radio would play more of their deep cuts instead of Born to be Wild for the millionth time.

Played this song in high school rock band. Time went on, married , job , most sweet wife and I had daughter. Now I am age 60. I still play my classical guitar and remember this song. My life dedicated to education in health but I so long to create something for my self as an artist. Love this music it inspires me to paint again sing dance
