Lyrics:

You have to become

What your fancy

Paperback head, you get carried away

Stitch up your spine, keep the suitors away

You must draw your own day, must sift your offense

Must frame a...a material girl

Wild fires

You must remit

Can't stand the smoke, pull the sheets down low

Rope up your mind, keep the suitors in line

Must draw your own day, must sift your offense

Must frame a...a material girl

A material girl

I gasp like sugar and spice

I gasp like sugar and spice

Who better than you? Better than you

Who better than you? Better than you

Who better than you? Better than you

Who better than you?

A paperback head, you get carried away

Stitch up your spine, keep the suitors away

Can't stand the smoke, pull the sheets down low

Rope up your mind, keep the suitors in line

You must draw your own day, must sift your offense

Must frame a...a material girl

A material girl, a material girl

A material girl, a material girl

A material girl, a material girl

A material girl

I'd be more interested to know why you have a left dick. Also, really? "Convert" her? Let her be who she is.

"Did it ever occur to you that this might just be a song with random lines and words? Things don't always have to mean something, You sound like one of those ancient alien theorist who always try to link humanity to ancient aliens and look for 'meanings' when there really isn't any."- Supasonic Boobyalater

Sara, people sometimes like things or people that they shouldn't, it's like an abusive relationship.. like how some girls like bad boys instead of the good guy. What I would tell you to do is just walk away. It's not going to kill you if you never listen to them again, and I'm sure after a few days or a week you wont even have them in your thoughts. Sure you will think about them occasionally but just walk away. Like U2 says, "YOU'VE GOT TO LEAVE IT BEHIND"

"What is this song about? I mean I like it, but I don't know what they are trying to say. I understand English, but I'm having a hard time interpreting it" - Supasonic Boobyalater

"I'm not a music aficionado, but I heard this song as music for a cosplay video, and now I'm more attracted to this song than the video I was first attracted to. I am Professor Scientist" - Supasonic Boobyalater

And I think (please correct me if i'm wrong or toss out more ideas) the layman's analysis of this song is that it's about writing songs, or books, or both. I'd elaborate, but my typing has since become lazy. lol.

@iammotanz You're right. And that line is genius if you think about it. It's a line that can speak to anyone, makes one ponder about where their life's pushing them, and how they would want to shift its current to reach the place they want to be in life - find their calling, so to speak. And it's the first line in the song! Sets the tone. Great song.
