I think this ending gave a big middle finger to the last movie. Yea Lela got to change her destiny to what she wanted but it ended up reversing the whole movie and the last one. What the writers of Disney just did is saying "remember the last movie and the movie you just watched, and the huge build up if they are going to make it back to their own world from the last movies? Welll forget about that one!!!!! No more wet side story!!! Now there's and new story and guess what?? They changed roles!!!! Yay!!!...." Wow wth... why do they want to confuse us like this...

The thing I don't like about this ending is that it throws away all of the character development that these characters went through in the 2 movies. Also, if Brady and Mack never met, and thus never got stuck in Wet Side Story, Mack wouldn't have had a reason to stay and would've gone away to prep school. This ending isn't logical, and only serves the purpose of shoving the heavy handed female empowerment message down our throats

This is the biggest thing in my mind right now, and I'm pretty sure this is why you shouldn't mess with time alteration, is if the events of the first film never took place, then why is Mack still there? If the events of the first film never happened, she most likely wouldn't have of built up the courage to tell her aunt she was staying, so now Disney is breaking my mind, mostly because the way this ending was they didn't write off everything, not saying I didn't love the ending, I did, I love the fact it wasn't the horrendous Disney cliché of "Happy endings" I just they would've spent a little more time actually thinking this stuff out....

I know a lot of people are having trouble understanding the ending. I would be happy to explain it to you guys do you can enjoy the movie better. At the end, Tanner and Layla, didn't make it back on time to there movie. So that throws off the old way Brady And Mack meets. However, Layla did changed the movie. But they basically put how Brady and Mack met back on track. So basically, This time Layla and Tanner had to change the real world to put it back on track. Just like how Brady and Mack had to put "Wet side story" back on track. So Layla and Tanner had to put "Reality" back on track. Look. I know confusing. But if you read slowly, you realized what I am saying.
