I have followed Uncle Ted's music career since the Amboy Dukes days. Now that I am A LOT older, it holds an even more meaningful part of my life. As a proud American and US Navy Retired Veteran it's good to see someone who is not afraid to use their fame and notoriety for something besides being a dope head or drunk. Often times when I am on my way to the woods on one of those cold, crisp mornings, I listen to this song (along with many others from Uncle Ted) and it gives me that sense of peace. As I sit in my deer stand, watching that morning sunrise break through the darkness in the east, I can still hear the tranquility of this song, helping me to enter into that oneness with the Spirit of the Wild.

Credits should also read, I believe it was recorded with a 1957 Fender 6 string bass, and Ted said that Brian Wilson from the Beach Boys offered to buy it because it is very rare, Ted said no thanks.

I remember that too, and I agree that was the true version. There's a narrated version on Youtube but it was not the version done at WRIF. When Ted played it that morning, that was the single greatest moment on radio I have ever heard. And that week Ted did the radio show was the best week of radio.

Ted is actually playing a 6 string bass,the Fender Bass VI on this.He has used it on other songs like "At Home There" and "Little Miss Dangerous" and a few others.I think when the guys from Korn said Ted influenced them they mostly meant his use of the Fender Bass VI.

Just a beautiful guitar piece with that touch that he has beyond his intense hard rockin' riffs and incredible leads,arguably in the top 5 guitar players ever-yes I hear the lists from Rolling Stone mag and Joni Mitchell made the top 100 guitarists of rock but not Ted?Come on-I remember when Double Live and Cat scratch came out me and all my friends and sisters were Ted fanatics and I still am.
