I met him after a performance in 2006. Never in my life have I met a kinder, sweeter man. I mean- he's just beyond. He's not of this world and I swear that's how he's played Jesus and the emotions so well ALLLL these years :)

Emotions, passions, drama, pain, anger..... Ted's voice is a musical instrument with a thousand sounds, the tone is deep and dramatic. Geat spirituality and great sensuality at hte same time. It 'simply shocking.

The best Christ of the screen ever (the second is Robert Powell)! I was 14 as I watched this movie JC Superstar for the first time. Ted DID convince me in the role of Christ, it seems to me he was the real Christ singing! Maybe Christ's spirit was in the actor/singer's mind and we didn't realize it. At least I DID feel Christ's presence in the teather, then. -- GILBERTO SAUGEN, a catholic from Brasil

I saw him live in Foxwood theatre, CT many years ago. Maybe right around this time 1998 maybe 1997. I saw the show Jesus Christ Superstar and he was just as good as he was here if not better and I swear I felt like I was watching Jesus himself. The feeling he puts into this song is unmatchable by anyone.

awww, I'm sorry you never got to see him live. I really don't think he'll do it again, lol. God bless him! even with the last tour, no one can perform this role like him or put so much into it. Steve Balsamo is the only one who comes close.

He's not even playing the character, it's just a bloody concert, and yet he's putting so much into it. Amazing.

I know ALW is commonly known to plagiarise little bits of classical pieces, but I don't hear Adagio for strings at all in this song.
