Teds an amazing drummer drummer no doubt. But he's certainly advantaged by insisting on setting up a drum kit and recording it in a way that shows off this impressive capability. Most metal drum recordings post "And Justice For All ..." sound like a cold and clinical series of clicks and ticks. It's quite odd. Maybe being the main-man for his band Ted get's his way. No idea.
