Recently I heard a story about Michael Jackson who stopped the a rehearsal to speak to the keyboardist. He gently chided him to "play [the song] like they hear it." It confused the keyboardist for just a bit, then he realized what Jackson meant ... More often than not, audience members go to see performers expecting to hear them perform "the song/album" precisely as they [the audience] remembers it. Tears for Fears achieves that just about flawlessly, every time! Great stuff!

As great as they play live they lack that original play with percussion especially with mad world and shout. Strange. It's there but not driving, more mechanical from a great group that can give it that original accentuating percussion.

yeah you're right man, age has nothing to do with liking a band or anything, you see, there are 40 year olds who are plainly naive, never found themselves, never knew what to look for, never knew what to consider important. On the other hand, you have some 15 year old's, some teenage boys, who are understanding the world and how mad it is at this point, and they may identify with the rolling stones, or oasis, or the greats in general. Seems like taste is more than liking something.

@JekyllnHyde35 I loved this band 25 years ago, and I have no shame in loving them now. Screw anyone who says they suck.

Pack a rod. Now I'm being crude and right. You'll think twice before you shout.
