You people complaining about Kayne are stupid. You should be happy that he sampled/referenced TFF in his song. I'm a huge fan of both and I own all of each's music. He's keeping them relevant and also used this song to create something even bigger and more current. I don't get your reasons for hate.

So this is the song Kanye West sampled or however you want to say it. I like this song, but I will say I like Kanye's version better. Some people might say he ripped off this version, but I say it shows his taste in music such as this song.

I love the Tears for Fears' Memories Fade, but I prefer Kanye's Coldest Winter, and I have my reasons.For those blindly hating on Mr. West, please look up the video version of Coldest Winter. It appears to have been redone from scratch - no sampling, just interpolation with thick orchestral strings, bells, chimes and melancholy horns - it's really quite beautiful. Then the use of Taiko drums makes the whole thing feel like a desolate death march. The production is profoundly moving, in a way I feel Memories Fade isn't.Don't get me wrong, I love this track but it just doesn't have the same emotional kick for me.
