I'm a rapper and from a purely artistic standpoint I'll say this: While I am an open minded man in my personal life I think the rap community is WAY too close minded. There should be a place for gay rappers in the wider hip hop community. And after watching the video (sent the link by a lesbian friend) I have to say that this group could be the one to break through, so to speak. They are talented in their lyrics and delivery but have just enough campiness to not be taken too serious. Also they're just cute enough to be allowed in to the game, looks do matter in the hip hop genre for better or for worse. These ladies could be perfect for changing hip hop for the better, making it a more inclusive community, as gay acts and performers have broken through in ever genre of music BUT hip hop. It's just a tough sell to the urban community that while gays have always been part of the community, their lifestyle has often been the subject of ridicule and scorn, met with most times unfair fear and loathing due in part to the strong religious presence in poorer communities where rap was born. I hope they get their shot. I have to say as a fellow artist I quite enjoyed the song.

SEX is (only partly) defined by chromosomes. There are XY women whose bodies have been female from birth; some of them have gotten pregnant and given birth without medical help. Sex is mainly anatomy and physiology, both of which can be changed. If you have a fixed gender (some people don't), it's who you are, not what your sex is. If you have the mind (or if you're religious, soul) of a woman, you're a woman, and if of a man, you're a man--by gender. Your sex may not match your gender.

First, most femmes like other femmes, and many butches like other butches. In a way, you're right: if they wanted a man, they'd be with one. She wants a woman who will take care of her, protect her, treat her like a lady, and (not always, it depends) take charge in bed. She doesn't want someone with a penis. The only exception which will blow your mind is if a cis lesbian is in a relationship with a trans woman who is butch. That's a topic for a different comment.
