Americans are just not the same people they used to be!! just take a look on the charts and you'll see what kind of music they listen too! We live in a cynical time when you see a talentless cow like Susan Boyle stays no.1 for weeks & Tyler Hicks is a joke!!!! Tyler is the most talented complete musician probably in his generation & he gets no respect. America has changed alright. Now its black eyed peas and lady gag me who base(steal) most of their songs on older music & top the charts.

James Durbin did WAY better!!!! & he shouldn't even won, Chris Daughtry should've won! We don't even hear about Taylor Hicks anymore! Chris is way more successful then he is and he came in 4th!

Yep........he made America smile and what is funny is how Simon gave his grief about his dancing etc. and now they all try to copy it.Taylor has just gone on to greater stuff. And is still fun to watch at concerts.

@fortunate1950 Yeah, I think sibling rivalry is common and glossed over with the image of "one big, happy family" by many households. It's after time 2:06, actually, when Taylor's family appears. His brother on the left, who encouraged him to audition, and his father on the right, who discouraged him. His father may have been disappointed in a 28 year-old unemployed musician as a son by then and thought Idol was just another pipe dream, though.

After time 2:15, his father claps in disbelief and is embarrassed that he discouraged Taylor from auditioning, saying he should go buy a lottery ticket instead, insulting his son's long-shot hopes. Now he has to watch him winning on the biggest stage in live TV and he feels like a bad parent, who didn't believe in his son as much as strangers do.
