My interpretation, for what it's worth is that it's about adulthood, and the disenchanted side of it. the yellow posts are like thoughts on memories of the good times, and in the end the adult learns to use those memories as cheerful reminders without trying to constantly run after and try to revive what now belongs to another era of his life.
