I grew up and still live in Tifton,Georgia. We always had the speculation that this song was written about a particular preacher from here. A few decades ago, I did a shift at a local country station, after working a full time job during the day. Occasionally, I would slide this song into the rotation. Unbeknownst to me, the preacher had a Sunday morning program at the same station. The owners pulled the album from the library......Fun memories. Thanks for posting .
