Great snare, when you actually pick this thing up and feel the quality you understand why its so great.

Somewhat problematic snare demo since Rodney's using moongel--creates a misleading impression of the snare's dryness.

I have this snare...it sound great both with low and high tuning...warm but powerfull sound...and it sound better, in my opinion, with evans G1 head than remo ambassador...

I was like "Sounds good, but is it muffled?!?!" Then the camera pans upwards, and we see the moongel. My face: AAWWWWW YEAAHH!!

I have the same snare and I really agree with you. It's really a versatile snare and I love it and I've owned it for a year and a half now and I'm sold to this snare.

So by your logic, if a drum doesn't produce your ideal sound, it sounds like a 50 gallon oil drum? That's asinine. Broaden your horizons. This drum is fat, powerful, and sensitive. Perspective and clarity aren't the primary focus in the sound of this drum. It tunes GREAT low, and maintains tons of punch at higher tensions. Plus, the hardware is top notch and sports great innovation.

In terms of sound and projection , no matter how hard Tama tries to create that perfect snare, whether signature or not, they'll never achieve the magic when the created their one and only monster snare drum, "The Terminator" bell brass snare drum...It's legendary...Like the Camco bass drum pedal..

Warm. Yes. Clean. Yes. Even. Sure. Hate it. Sorry, I am sure folks worked hard on it, and I can appreciate the craftmanship. But is sounds like a 50 gallon oil drum with snares on the bottom. For perspective and clarity, I prefer 5 1/2 wood snare drums and piccolo snares. love the pop. Guess it's all relative. Rodney...damn man you got some slick chops. Keep it up...Peace.
