My husband and son corrected me on this. She possibly did die but it was not rape but from drugs. I hate this song now. I hate drugs that would do that to someone.

It's like you all just don't get it, Did you watch the video? The Photo snap, like they use to take in homicide cases years ago. You must all be babies and have know idea.the big photo snap like it shows in the video, and then the white tile flooring? really, and then it shows briefly that this "girl/woman" on the missing list????? YOU all have no attention span, and I thought I was bad.

I have received so many comments to my original posting and I still stand by my feelings because of the end of the video showing her as on the missing list. Who in God's name would want to post a video of someone being on the missing list?? Like it is just o.k. that she is gone. WRONG.

This is what happens when you drop acid and lie down on a neighborhood hillside near a highway.

I wonder if "she was" the beautiful wife in "once in a lifetime"? if so i guess his "girlfriend is better" so he took to "burning down the house" to get rid of her.

great to hear from you Lee!!!!, I just had wondered about the last bit of the video that showed her as missing girl, just like on those forensic shows I have watched. I used to love this song until I really listened to the lyrics.

I have listened to this song so many times, and it finally dawned on me, it is about afemale, getting probably raped, beaten, left for dead, struggling to find help, and then dying and going to heaven looking down as her spirit leaves her just as the end of the song suggests.

This was the first Talking Heads tune I can remember hearing, and it's still one of their best as well as one of my favorites. Pity I can't find a live performance of it anywhere.
