8th track on Talk Shows one and only album.

Band Info:

Talk Show was an American alternative/hard rock band consisting of Dave Coutts (vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar), Robert DeLeo (bass), and Eric Kretz (drums). The group was essentially Stone Temple Pilots with Coutts (formerly of the band Ten Inch Men) taking the place of Scott Weiland, who was, around this time, working on solo material and struggling with drug addiction.

Talk Show released their self-titled (and only) album on Atlantic Records in September 1997. Despite positive reviews and supporting tours with the Foo Fighters and Aerosmith, the album's sales were disappointing and deemed a commercial failure. With the lackluster sales, the DeLeos and Kretz re-emerged with Weiland as Stone Temple Pilots once again.

When this album first came out, NOBODY wanted to touch it. You could find it in the bargain bin for .99 cents. I kept telling people, give it a chance. The songs are good. Its not STP but there is NO DOUBT that Robert, Dean and Eric would make this album sound very good, musically. NOW, it seems to be getting a 2nd chance. I love Scott, but its clear these guys can rock without him.

@Fakename70 Sorry, I meant to say it's a odd reason when you consider how "meh" STP's always been live, not that it was an odd reason overall. Nothing weird about saying it. But when you consider that most of the badmouthing came from Weiland himself (not exactly an unbiased source), I'd like more proof! I've seen STP twice (first in 1994 -- what must be considered their prime) and they weren't bad, but nothing special. I've never really heard anyone talk about STP as a great love band.

@potsos What exactly was "odd" about what I said? Did you see Talk Show or have you heard any of their live clips here at YouTube? I don't think I said anything other than the truth. And, while I'll agree about Weiland being "hit and miss", you have to remember he wasn't that nearly as much then as he is now. The guy still had a great voice and was an amazing front man during STP's first hiatus. His main problem was he just couldn't put the drugs down or stay out of jail.

I absolutely love STP, but this album is a hell of a lot better than No. 4 or Shangri-la-di-da.

@Fakename70 Seems like an odd reason. STP's never been considered an excellent live band and Weiland isn't great live either, definitely hit and miss.

@jaske41 Couldn't cut it onstage. At least, not as a member of Talk Show. Weak voice live.
