I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard Talib Kweli. That shit changed my LIFE! Haha! That was in December of 2002 when I heard "Get By" on tv (music videos). I was 17 years old. My brother drove me to the mall to buy the CD. We listened to it driving home, and I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard "can I talk to you".Being a kid then, I was making music and I would think "this is EVERYTHING I want to be as a musician". I went back and collected all his older stuff with Hi Tek.Talib Kweli is a special artist to me (my favorite actually) because his kind of hip hop ALWAYS reminds me of what it was like to be a young guy. I ALWAYS remember where I was the first time I heard my favorite songs of his. I'll NEVER forget where I was when I first heard Eardrum. I was driving home from college and I remember I had to pull over when I first heard "Soon The New Day" featuring Norah Jones. I was in such AWE of what that song was that I just had to pull over, turn off the engine and just listen.Good times. I'm 30 now and I feel like everything sucks and is boring, but his music always takes me back to my late teens/early 20s with my basketball jerseys and jeans and timbs haha!
